On Sunday, God used David to show how a heart for God can overcome evil with good: By God’s Practical Guidance – Give your bitterness to God and be silent to prevent words spoken in anger; God’s Perspective Guidance – All people, even those who hurt us, are precious children of God and we must value their lives by doing what it takes to forgive and give them what is good; God’s Procedural Guidance – Take the initiative and go now to begin the process of reconciliation. (1 Samuel 26:7-25)

July 3, 2011 Sermon: A Heart For God – To Overcome
On Sunday, we continued opening our lives to a heart for God, through the life of David – seeing how his heart for God enables him to overcome the giant Goliath, and enables us to overcome the giants in our lives, by seeing that our giants are enemies of God; having faith in God because of the ways He has saved us in the past; and staying alert for God to give us what we need, when we need it, to overcome. (1 Samuel 17:3-11, 32-51)
June 26, 2011 Sermon: A Heart For God – To Choose
On Sunday, we saw why David was chosen by God to lead his people – because David had a heart for God; and how God can choose and use all people for His purposes, regardless of who or “what” we are. (1 Samuel 13:14; 16:1-13)
