Notes From Fred
This is an exciting Sunday – as we roll out our Couch to 5K Challenge, an opportunity for all ages and stages to grow in our wellness of mind, body, and spirit – receiving our fantastic 5K Challenge Guide; coming together at 7:00 to begin to move from Couch to 5K (running or walking); and pairing up, for those who choose to do so, with a Wellness Buddy to share and encourage the journey!
And the excitement continues for our children and friends who are getting ready for our next Preschool Summer Camp – “Let’s Go Camping,” beginning August 6…
Trust in God – To Give What You Need
Exodus 16; 17:1-7
As you read and pray about the Scripture for this week, discuss it with someone else, and answer these questions:
- What specific words seem to be speaking to you, and why do those words “stand out” for you?
- We continue with our Journey with Moses to be transformed by trust in God – this week for God to give what we need. In our Scripture, the people have physical needs, but their attitude toward God reflects a deeper Spiritual need – to be grateful for the gifts of God, and faith that He will give the gifts that they need. Their attitude affects their relationship with God, their relationship with those around them, and the peace (or lack of peace) within themselves. How grateful are you for God’s gifts? How can your attitude about what God does for you be more what God wants for you? How can God give you a more grateful heart – leading to a more peace-filled and joy-filled life?
- What would you like to understand better after Sunday?
Let me know about your preparation—and to what extent the sermon connected to your life.
Fred
